Coconuts
Coconuts are yum. My favourite part of a coconut is the milk. In coconuts there is also flesh (white stuff inside). The flesh has a lot of fat in it. It can be soft or hard depending on the stage of the coconut. I like it when its softish. Some people think sprouting coconuts are yum - I don't! Sprouting coconuts are the start of a new tree. I have also made a bowl from the shell. Is the coconut a nut a fruit

ReplyDeleteSimone R4 thinks it's a nut too, because it has a shell on the outside and has stuff inside it and you can also get its milk.
Roi thinks it's a fruit because it grows on a tree.
Georgia R4 thinks its a nut because it has a shell and is soft on the inside.
Isla R5 thinks it could be a fruit if it has got seeds inside it.
Noah M R5 - thinks its a nut because it doesn't have seeds inside it.
So Leroy, can you please tell us the answer, as we had a number of different ideas?

Hi Leroy. We looked up the answer and found out a coconut is not a fruit or a nut but a 'drupe'! Funny word. It looks like you're having good fun. Say hi to your parents Jacqui, Uwe, Max and finn.
